The New Industrial Revolution (NIR) Center is a bioscience and technology campus covering a full block in Central Eastside's Innovation Quadrant. Two ten-story, interconnected mass timber towers will rise in H-formation over a shared courtyard and below-grade concrete parking structure. Collectively, the center will provide lab, creative office, conference and event space - with retail stores and a childcare center on the ground floor. The primary structure will include mass plywood panels, spanning to steel Delta Beams supported by LVL columns. The lateral system will consist of steel buckling retrained (BRB) braced frames and a reinforced concrete topping slab.
