44 Commons is a 17,000sf mixed-use project in the Linden Hills neighborhood in South Minneapolis. Built using dowel-laminated timber (DLT) decking and a glulam frame, it is the second mass timber project in Minnesota. Mass timber construction has a lighter carbon footprint than steel or concrete and allows for fast, efficient construction with little waste. The entire frame went up in five weeks, minimizing impact to the neighborhood while also generating positive interest from the community.
