The Chung Tai Zen Center is a 25,000 square foot Buddhist Meditation Center, which will consist of a main sanctuary building and associated residential monastery developed on a beautiful, rural 35acre site in East Boulder. The property’s quiet and rural farm character is the ideal calm atmosphere for meditation practice and Buddhist instruction, prioritizing purity of mind and a caring, fulfilling way of life. This single story structure has expansive interior spaces with high volumes that are accentuated by the Cross-Laminated Timber ceiling/roof and massive glu-lam timber beams and columns.

The facility will be Net Zero Energy, producing more energy than it uses. The intention for the center’s design encourages mindfulness and incorporates a harmonic relationship with the environment.  The timber and wood in the project provide a connection with natural world and it brings a warm calming environment into the project.
