This four-story restaurant is located downtown along legendary Lower Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee, filled with live music and buzzing energy of tourism. Responding to the site’s historic context, the building is constructed with mass timber, a nod to the commercial warehouses within the area that are heavy timber and load bearing masonry, but with a fresh take showing how far this renewable structure type has come through out the years. Patrons are greeted at the entry with portals created out of bottles that are lit, a Bottled Blonde staple. The mass timber and palette of simple, durable materials, pulls patrons in by creating a warm and inviting space with large floor to floor heights. An inviting, open stair guides people to explore the upper levels of the building. Each floor has operable windows allowing the excitement and energy of the space and the street to flow between each other. The top level is equipped with garage doors to open up to a rooftop terrace, creating the opportunity for an indoor/ outdoor space for everyone to experience.
