The Dekum Court Community Center is part of a development in the Concordia neighborhood of Portland that provides access to quality affordable housing. The redevelopment of the existing housing community offers 187 units for residents who earn at or below 60% of the median family income in Oregon. The project aims to preserve the neighborhood’s existing character and amenities while improving pedestrian connections and providing ample access to shared outdoor spaces.
The building will use shear walls, glulam columns and beams, and CLT roof panels. Mass Timber was chosen for the community center because of it’s design aesthetic which offers residents comfortable, healthy, and light-filled environments to enjoy.
