Calvert Twin Beaches Branch Library

Calvert Library utilized mass timber construction, taking advantage of two primary considerations of timber construction; speed of construction and lightweight materials.

Speed of Construction: Glulam timber components are prefabricated off-site, reducing on-site construction time.  This results in faster project completion, minimizing disruption to the site and nearby operations.

Lightweight yet Strong: Timber is surprisingly strong and lightweight, making it suitable for a variety of architectural designs.  It allows for long spans and open, inviting spaces, which can be especially advantageous for libraries.
