Cool Springs Pavilion
Franklin, TN
The Park West Pavilion is a mass timber outdoor gathering structure integrated into the Park West campus redevelopment in Cool Springs. Conceived as an anchor for the site’s event lawn and outdoor workplace environment, the pavilion provides a flexible, sheltered space for meetings, tenant programming, and community events within a newly activated landscape setting.
Mass Timber Approach
The structure utilizes prefabricated heavy timber components to create an exposed wood frame that serves as both structure and finished architecture. Off-site fabrication allowed efficient installation while minimizing disruption to the surrounding park and existing office operations.
Sustainability & Performance
Mass timber was selected for its durability, renewable material sourcing, and ability to deliver a warm, natural aesthetic aligned with the project’s landscape-driven design strategy.
Project Impact
The pavilion demonstrates how mass timber can be applied at a small civic scale to create high-quality outdoor environments—supporting placemaking, flexibility of use, and rapid construction within an occupied commercial campus.
