Fields Senior Living at Smokey Point (originally called Magnolia Place), is a remarkable senior housing project that broke ground in 2020.

From the very beginning, it was clear that this would be a wood-framed project with a significant Engineered Wood Products scope. The project had some challenging design elements, for example non-stacking walls on long spans. This is where the partnership between the General Contractor (GC) and the building product manufacturer played a vital role. The supplier's involvement went beyond merely providing materials. They provided value engineering ideas, offered ways to make the design more efficient to frame, conducted frequent site visits, and worked closely with the GC and the construction team to identify any potential issues and make real-time adjustments, ensuring that the project ran smoothly.

Today, Fields Senior Living at Smokey Point is a testament to the power of collaboration in the construction industry. The building serves as a haven for seniors, providing them with a comfortable and safe environment. Its remarkable construction journey, marked by the effective use of Engineered Wood Products and the unwavering support from the supplier, remains an example of what can be achieved through teamwork and dedication in the face of challenges.
