A new, replacement Roundhouse Youth Education Center for the Maidu in Greenville, California. Drawing upon ancient and contemporary models of the circular, tribal center, the building interprets the construction methods for contemporary mass timber and Wildland Urban Interface building standards, while also using passive house principles to replace the irretrievable cultural artifacts lost in the Dixie Fire of August 2021.
