1847 Food Park (Milwaukee Food Park)
Milwaukie, ORLocated in the heart of historic downtown Milwaukie, Oregon, the 1847 Food Park transforms a former commercial site into a vibrant community gathering place centered around local food, events, and public space. The development features a food cart pod, covered seating pavilion, landscaped plaza, and a three-story taphouse and Sky Bar overlooking downtown, creating a year-round destination for residents and visitors.
Timber plays a defining role in the project's architectural character. Freres Engineered Wood supplied Mass Plywood Panels (MPP) for the pavilion roof structure, while custom timber trusses highlight the taphouse. The exposed wood structure creates a warm, inviting atmosphere and showcases the versatility of mass timber in hospitality and public gathering spaces.
Designed to encourage community connection, the 1847 Food Park demonstrates how thoughtfully integrated timber construction can enhance both the function and identity of an urban public destination.
