Mark is the WoodWorks Regional Director for Texas. He works directly with developers and design teams, providing education and free technical support related to the design, engineering and construction of commercial and multi-family wood buildings. A licensed Professional Engineer, Mark has knowledge to assist with all aspects of wood building design, including allowable heights and areas and construction types, structural detailing of wood and hybrid systems, fire resistance, acoustics, and alternate means of code compliance.

Mark spent 11 years as a practicing structural engineer, eight years as a field engineer with Simpson Strong-Tie, and six years in business development for a structural engineering firm. His structural engineering project management experience includes multi-family, retail, hospitality, education, aviation, churches, residential and movie theaters. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Oklahoma.
