Civic Center Drive
Augusta, MEOverview
This senior living community expands Augusta’s civic campus with housing designed to support accessibility, comfort, and long-term durability while integrating into the Civic Center corridor.
Mass Timber Approach
Mass timber was selected to provide exposed structure as a finished material, reducing additional interior finishes while creating a residential scale appropriate for senior housing. Prefabricated components supported efficient construction and predictable installation.
Sustainability & Performance
The use of renewable structural materials reduced embodied carbon while aligning with Maine’s forest-products economy and regional manufacturing base.
Project Impact
The project demonstrates how mass timber can be effectively applied to senior living environments pairing constructability, durability, and occupant-centered design.
