Mesa Court Community Center

Irvine, CA

This new student-centered facility at the UC Irvine Mesa Court Campus is designed to serve the growing student population with expanded dining and study spaces. Led by Hathaway Dinwiddie and Miller Hull in a design-build partnership, the project prioritizes inclusivity and campus connectivity, fostering meaningful student interaction through intentional architectural design.

While the primary structure is cast-in-place concrete, the second floor introduces warm, expressive mass timber elements. Glulam beams and a sloping CLT roof define this upper level, bringing natural materials into the student environment and reinforcing the project's commitment to sustainability, well-being, and biophilia.
