Drew Kleman AIA NCARB leads PRESS - the Inland NW's leading architectural practice focused on moving mass timber forward in the built environment.  Drew was the architect design lead and design manager of the Catalyst Building in Spokane, the State of Washington's first full mass timber commercial and higher education building.  He also led the introduction of mass timber in the light industrial market during his time at Katerra, culminating with the permitting and construction of CLT warehouses in Spokane, Washington and Dallas, Texas.

After establishing PRESS, Drew has worked closely with the Mercer Mass Timber team in Spokane Valley, Washington, including designing a planer addition to their factory.  The addition featured a hybrid steel frame with CLT walls and roof.  PRESS is also working on a prototype hybrid CLT warehouse with US east-coast partners.

PRESS is first and foremost an architectural practice rooted in collaborative working relationships.  Egos are left at the door.  Our design approach to any project is informed by the manufacturing capabilities - which lends itself fundamentally to mass timber.  We work closely with manufacturers in order to discover the nuanced conditions that may make a project even more successful.
