Matt is an Associate Principal at EQUILIBRIUM in Atlanta, GA and leads the firm's operations in the US. From its home office in Vancouver, BC, Equilibrium has long been established as a leader in timber engineering. This history and expertise has now officially expanded into the US via the firm's Atlanta office.
Matt has significant experience with all structural materials, but has turned his focus in recent years to mass timber. As of early 2024, Matt has been involved in 25 mass timber projects. He truly believes that it is the material of the future. Matt serves on the American Wood Council's Wood Design Standards Committee. He is an advocate for sustainability in the built environment and is a member of the SEI's Sustainabilty Committee and SE 2050 Committee.
