Fellowship Bible Church Connection Center

The Fellowship Bible Church Connection Center expands a long-standing campus vision, creating a welcoming front door for community gathering, fellowship, and ministry. Designed as a highly relational space, the project prioritizes warmth, openness, and material authenticity, aligning the architectural expression with the church’s mission of connection and engagement.

Mass timber plays a central role in achieving these goals. The structure incorporates glulam beams and columns with wood decking, creating a clear and expressive structural system that is fully integrated with the architectural design. Exposed timber elements define the primary gathering spaces, establishing a warm, tactile environment that reinforces a sense of community while elevating the overall spatial experience.

Beyond aesthetics, the timber system contributes to performance and constructability. The use of prefabricated structural components enabled efficient erection, reduced on-site labor, and improved coordination across trades. Early integration of the structural system allowed the design team to align span requirements, simplify detailing, and integrate mechanical systems within the exposed structure, minimizing additional finish layers.

Mass timber also supports the project’s sustainability objectives. As a renewable material with lower embodied carbon than conventional steel or concrete systems, it reflects a commitment to responsible resource use while contributing to a healthy indoor environment.
