Cooley Landing Education Center
East Palo Alto, CAAward-winning Cooley Landing was the first project in California to use CLT for its roof gravity and lateral structural system. The roof system was chosen for its ability to span across the open community space, because it could be pre-finished to match the sculpted wood form of the building, and for its fast construction speed. The building sits on a former landfill site at the southern end of San Francisco Bay, which is now a nature reserve.
