FP 10 Southampton
Southampton, NYThis three-story residence in Southampton highlights the beauty and structural capability of an all-glulam structure. Completed by BuildLabs in nine months at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project reflects a focused, disciplined application of engineered wood at the residential scale.
The glulam system provides the backbone for the home’s clean geometry, long spans, and expansive triple-pane windows. Walk-out balconies and generous openings connect the interior to the surrounding landscape, while the precision and stability of engineered timber support bright, warm, and comfortable living spaces.
Stained cedar cladding, a flat roofline, and restrained detailing give the home a clear architectural presence, while rooftop solar and integrated smart controls contribute to long-term energy performance. A detached ADU and pool house carry the same timber language across the site, reinforcing a cohesive approach to mass timber within a coastal setting.
The result is a home where structure and space work together naturally, grounded in material honesty and built for the long term.
