Designers of the innovative office building used a brick and glass exterior to wrap an exposed mass timber frame, built using glulam beams and columns supporting CLT floor and roof panels. Designed to provide a contemporary yet authentic workspace, Platte Fifteen features highly efficient floor plates, 10-foot full height glass, a rooftop deck with unobstructed views of downtown and the mountains, usable common areas, outdoor patios, secured lobby, bike storage, commuter locker room, fitness center and underground parking. It is located in Denver’s Lower Highlands neighborhood and is the city's first CLT building.
See the WoodWorks technical case study on Platte Fifteen.
See the Platte Fifteen Life Cycle Assessment: This life cycle assessment (LCA) study compares the embodied carbon, construction costs, and speed of construction of three functionally equivalent buildings in mass timber, steel, and concrete, all based on this project.
