As the Capitol's first all mass timber building, the DC Library stands as a flagship of mass timber in the Eastern US. The structure of the Library involves a folded plate DLT (dowel-laminated timber) roof supported by a Glulam / steel substructure and a hybrid timber and steel braced frame. The beautiful design vision emphasizes a warm, inviting feel for this key community space.
