A collaboration between the developer and architect, this speculative office building with ground-floor retail makes a bold statement in downtown Portland. Named for its shape, the project includes two canted six-story towers wrapped in hand-painted artwork by Los Angeles artist James Jean. The upper five floors, which serve as office and co-working spaces, are comprised of glulam beams and columns and T&G decking. Square in shape, the buildings have flaring walls and leaning columns that increase the footprint with each level.
