585 Essex St

585 Essex Street is a new 150-unit mixed use apartment complex located in Lynn, MA.  Space is limited in the historic city of Lynn. It falls in the top ten of population density in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Considering it is only 10 square miles of land, there is a necessity for dense living, and this structure fits that bill.

The project is made up of a single 6-story structure of 5 stories of type III-B conventional light frame construction on one story of type 1A steel.  Amenities include restaurant, office, mercantile and enclosed parking spaces.  The project, being tucked into a busy street in downtown Lynn, required on-time delivery from 84 Lumber and Boise Cascade BMD. To meet the constraints of the lot size, multiple deliveries of product with the appropriate equipment were employed. This ensured that framing would go quickly, with all the wood floors being framed up in under 4 months.
