The extensive renovation and new construction for Ashland Middle School includes seismic upgrades, mechanical system and indoor air quality improvements, new classrooms, career technical spaces, a site-based special programs wing, and administration and office areas. The project also repurposes the original gym into a multi-use media center/library and maker spaces. Additionally, the work will create a new home for Ashland School District’s magnet K-8 program, John Muir Outdoor School, which was previously located inside the original Ashland Middle School. Separating and renovating a classroom wing of the middle school will provide the magnet school with a distinct identity and autonomy.
