Ballyogan Operations and Maintenance Depot

Ballyogan, Dublin

The Operations and Maintenance depot at Ballyogan provides an integrated facility for Council services in the field of maintenance and environmental services. It is located at the edge of the former Ballyogan waste tip-head that previously served the Dublin County region. The facility comprises a new three storey office building, a maintenance/salt storage utility building, and vehicle and storage yards.

The office building's structure is mass timber with larch glue-laminated columns and beams, and spruce cross laminated floor slabs. The building is passively designed and naturally ventilated, with no mechanical ventilation systems. The maintenance building is a hybrid structure of insitu concrete and timber, and forms the edge of the 2.4 hectare service yard into extruded enclosures. The yard is used to park maintenance vehicles and also functions as a material storage and disposal facility.
