Edmonton Ski Club River Valley Outdoor Activity Centre

Edmonton, AB

Located in Edmonton's North Saskatchewan River Valley, the Edmonton Ski Club River Valley Outdoor Activity Centre is a new sustainably designed facility that will serve the community year round. Scheduled to open in Winter 2026, the centre will expand access to winter sports, supporting athletes at every level, from beginners to future Olympians. The project will provide spaces for community events, recreation, programming and access to winter sports for everyone in Edmonton.

The Activity Centre features a hybrid structural system that combines structural steel with exposed mass timber. The interior incorporates Douglas fir glulam beams on the ceiling of the building, creating long open spans while bringing natural character inside. The glulam complements the facility's sustainable design goals by providing structural efficiency and creating large welcome gathering spaces.
