John Ball Zoo Bissell Tree House

Positioned to embrace views of the city and zoo; providing excellent solar orientation for passive collection
Incorporated roof water run-off cisterns to collect rain water for grey water to be used for water closet flushing; located at the entry path to be used for educational dialogue
The tree house hovers in the trees to create a surprise as it is viewed from the funicular path
Planned in a natural open area to minimize the removal of existing trees
The historic designed funicular provides access to the high point of the zoo property, connecting participants to nature and prospect views of the city and zoo.
