Quick Serve Restaurant
Whitehall, OHWhitehall, Ohio, recently welcomed a new quick-service restaurant built with a structural frame system utilizing industrialized construction methods, prefabricated components, and light-frame building products. By leveraging materials such as laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and pin-connected trusses, along with in-house pre-assembled components, the project team streamlined both planning and installation. The lightweight, yet high-strength capabilities of these products enabled efficient on-site handling, while precision manufacturing helped ensure consistent quality and reduced the need for field modifications.
Installation efficiency was a key outcome of this approach. With a crew of just 7 workers, the full structural frame, including interior walls, was completed in 10 days in mid-December. Significantly accelerating the construction timeline compared to more conventional stick-framing methods. This rapid turnaround contributed to an earlier opening date, allowing the restaurant to begin serving customers and capturing revenue faster! This project demonstrates how the use of industrialized construction methods, including off-site prefabrication, can support faster builds, optimized labor usage, and reduce jobsite waste.
