Ropfogel Residence

The Ropfogel Residence Additions consist of an elevated pool house and an elevated guest house, adjoining an existing traditional light-framed structure.  The area's seismicity controlled its lateral design, requiring innovative connections and detailing which Anthem Structural Engineers undertook in a partnership with Rothoblaas.  The CLT panels themselves underwent several iterations, beginning as a double-T-beam composite system wherein glulam ribs are glued and nailed to the panels to increase their span capacity and eventually transitioning to a thicker 5-ply panel to lower transportation costs.
