UC Riverside SoCal OASIS Park

Riverside, CA

UC Riverside's SoCal OASIS Park is a brand new, state of the art 39,000 sf facility that is being designed to bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, students and community members in one innovative, collaborative hub. The goal of this new space is to foster research and innovation in six key areas: clean energy, agricultural technology, sustainable transportation, natural resource management, community health and workforce readiness.

Because of the emphasis on sustainability and innovation, mass timber was incorporated into much of the shared co-working space, and on the exterior there will be Accoya wood paneling, highlighting the wood structure. The mass timber will make up around half of the buildings overall footprint, strategically located at the lobby, coworking spaces and conference rooms. Back of the house labs and other areas that are going to be concealed anyways went with a steel structural system.
