The Western Yacht Harbor Office building was conceived as a floating DLT roof supported by glulam beams and columns. The office space is wrapped in triple-pane glass with large operable sliding glass doors. The roof overhangs to the east and south providing protection from solar gain and the prevailing direction of storms; this innovative wood structure is built on a steel piling structure over a marina on Seattle's Lake Union. The entire building functions as a small office, B Occupancy, an open office space wrapped in glass with a kitchen, restrooms, IT/data room and mechanical room as supporting spaces.
