2026 Mass Timber Conference Ironworkers Display

Portland, OR

The 2026 Ironworkers Conference Mass Timber Display was developed as a collaborative effort to demonstrate the important role of Ironworkers in the mass timber industry.  Designed to highlight the complimentary nature of steel and mass timber materials, the structure provided conference attendees with an opportunity to examine the craftsmanship, detailing, and constructability behind modern hybrid building systems.

The display was designed, fabricated, and erected specifically for the conference, requiring close coordination between steel and timber components to achieve a clean, exposed finish. While temporary in nature, the project reflected the same level of planning, precision, and execution required on permanent mass timber structures, demonstrating how thoughtful design and skilled installation come together to deliver successful hybrid projects.
