McGregor Square
Denver, COSports fans and Denver residents sought a more enriched experience when spending their entertainment dollars. The master plan was centered around a public plaza, creating an urban experience as a gateway to Colorado and the Rockies franchise. A future Rockies Hall of Fame combined with the plaza’s public gathering space, urban retail and restaurants, food hall, multi-family residential development, hotel and office space creates a rich urban fabric. This development promotes pedestrian connectivity and enhances a sense of place through environmental graphics, intuitive wayfinding, art, landscape and interactive technology features. Numerous features within McGregor Square involved custom structural systems to facilitate the design. From custom steel stairs, steel and mass timber wrapped columns that framed entertainment video boards, to catenary lighting systems, the structural challenges of the project were surmounted while maintaining the integrity of the architectural vision.
