HighNote Aviation Executive Terminal at Middle Georgia Regional Airport
Macon, GAThe HighNote Aviation Executive Terminal at Middle Georgia Regional Airport is a two-story, 17,936-square-foot mass timber aviation facility designed as a new gateway to Macon and Middle Georgia. Inspired by Macon's musical heritage, the distinctive building takes the form of an acoustic guitar when viewed from above while incorporating architectural elements inspired by piano keys. Its structural system utilizes a CLT superstructure with glulam framing and exposed wood as a central architectural feature. Approximately 70% of the project's timber is being sourced from Georgia, connecting the building's design to the state's forestry economy as well as Macon's music history. The project demonstrates mass timber's ability to accommodate complex geometries and highly expressive civic architecture while creating a warm, distinctive passenger environment. The facility will serve private and corporate aviation and include an FBO lobby, flight-planning area, conference space, offices, pilot amenities, restaurant and bar, outdoor patio, event lawn, balcony overlooking the airfield, and space for a flight school.
