Mass Timber is revitalizing cities especially for this "Biggest Little City" also known as Reno, Nevada. This is home for Nevada's first large scale mass timber apartment building, a is a 5 story, 68,000 square feet (88 units) Type III-B structure located near the heart of downtown Reno. It's a hybrid system of light framed wood walls with 3ply (4.5") Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) deck.
The team worked to create an innovative and efficient mass timber floor assembly specific for this project. Mass timber is making a spectacular entrance into the multifamily sector by creating value by considering market differentiation, sustainability, aesthetics, and speed of construction.
