Umpqua Community College Welcome Center & Medical Careers Hub

Roseburg, OR

The Umpqua Community College Welcome Center and Medical Careers Hub is a new facility designed to serve as both the primary gateway to campus and a center for healthcare workforce education in Douglas County. The two-story building combines student support services with expanded medical training facilities, creating a centralized resource for current and prospective students.

The first floor will house the college's Welcome Center, providing enrollment, advising, and student support services in a single, accessible location. The second floor will feature the Medical Careers Hub, including simulation labs, skills training rooms, and technology-enhanced classrooms, expanding healthcare education opportunities and helping address regional workforce needs.

Mass Plywood Panels (MPP), manufactured by Freres Engineered Wood, are incorporated into the building's structural system, demonstrating the use of regionally sourced mass timber in higher education facilities. Together, the project creates a welcoming campus destination while supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
