Zander has led Holmes' US operations since 2005, and finds meaningful work in engineering striking new construction projects tailor-made for his clients. Zander has overseen Holmes' work product for a variety of innovative companies including Adobe, Microsoft, Intuit and Autodesk. When he’s not collaborating on project design or assessing structures onsite, Zander contributes to the development of new institutional codes including the Port of San Francisco Building Code. He has completed numerous projects using Performance-Based Engineering (PBE) in accordance with ASCE41-13.

Zander has led structural engineering on several LEED certified institutional and commercial buildings in California and beyond, including academic buildings for the University of California & Stanford, the Bay Area Metro Center and 140 New Montgomery. He is also a leading voice in the structural application of Mass Timber in all forms. Including serving as Engineer of Record on large corporate campus projects in the Bay Area using mass timber and hybrid construction types. His mass timber experience extends from commercial buildings to multi-family affordable and market rate housing and academic buildings.
