Brentwood Library, across from City Hall, replaces the small storefront library on that site and incorporates a vibrant children’s section that can be opened onto a secure outdoor reading room.  A large community meeting room is attached to the Library and shares services - situated so that it can be used independently outside of Library hours. The western corner of the building, facing the City Park, offers a landscaped entry plaza and a small cafe with third-party vendor operation. The second story of the building is open at the center, allowing daylight and space conditioning to penetrate deep into the square floorplate.

The Library includes a double-height space over the lobby and features exposed cross-laminated timber floor and roof decks, and exposed steel framing. The project includes a CLT diaphragm on the roof and floor plates, which utilize plywood splines and screws to drag lateral loads into steel moment-resisting frames.
