Carving Studio and Sculpture Center

West Rutland, VT

These pavilions highlight minimal framing and no traditional bracing. The pavilions are tall enough for the studio to drive their fork lift in and out from all sides, and the roof overhangs provide the carvers with plenty of protection from the sun and weather. These pavilions are a great example of mass timber and CLT's strengths: speed of construction, reduction in overall timber, and large and elegant overhangs. Both pavilions were built from start to finish in a day!
