This manufacturing facility for EGGER includes large-scale glulam roof beams clear spanning 100 feet. In order to transport the beams in standard shipping containers, glulams were produced in three sections and spliced in the field using a proprietary and patented system for finger-jointing and field gluing glulam members to provide full member continuity. In her role at a previous firm, Tanya Luthi acted as the specialty engineer and registered design professional in North Carolina to sign and seal the shop drawings. This role included close coordination and detailed design checks of each splice connection.
