Lincoln City Welcome Center (D River Visitor Center)

Lincoln City, OR

The Lincoln City Welcome Center is envisioned as a gateway to Oregon’s central coast, creating a welcoming first impression for visitors while serving as a year-round community resource. Located at D River Wayside, one of Lincoln City’s most-visited oceanfront destinations, the project enhances beach access, expands visitor amenities, and strengthens the connection among residents, travelers, and the surrounding coastal environment.

Designed to celebrate the character of Lincoln City, the Welcome Center provides a central hub for information, education, and community engagement. The facility highlights local history, culture, recreation, and businesses while promoting stewardship of the region’s natural resources. Improved accessibility features, enhanced pathways, and thoughtfully integrated public spaces ensure that visitors of all abilities can enjoy the site and its oceanfront setting.

Mass Plywood Panels (MPP), manufactured by Freres Engineered Wood, contribute warmth, durability, and a distinctly Pacific Northwest character to the project. By combining locally sourced mass timber with a design focused on accessibility, education, and community connection, the Welcome Center creates a memorable destination that reflects Lincoln City's identity and values.
