Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre

Langley Township, BC

The Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre features 7 canopies using 15,000 sqft of dowel-laminated timber slabs on glulam beams and steel columns. This was the first dowel-laminated timber structure in Canada.

DLT slabs carried the gravity loads and acted as the shear diaphragms, glulam beams spanned from walls to columns, and tube-steel columns carried the gravity and lateral loads down to the foundations. Timber was pre-coated with a durable tinted multi-coat stain, and then erected the structures over several months on site as the substructures became available.
