This 128,000-square-foot, four-story office building for a confidential global technology company in Redmond, Washington, features a hybrid steel and mass timber structural system integrating cross-laminated timber floor panels with flitch beams and columns that combine structural steel and mass timber members. The system supports long spans, cantilevered façade pixels, and exposed interior wood elements while meeting the demands of a high seismic region. Extensive coordination, precise detailing, and carefully sequenced installation were required throughout the project, demonstrating the structural efficiency and growing demand of hybrid mass timber systems.
