McMillan Lake House

Colville, WA

Winter construction in the mountains of northeast Washington presented a unique challenge for this custom lakefront residence. By utilizing a prefabricated mass timber structural system, the building was erected in just five days, allowing the project to be enclosed quickly so interior and exterior finish work could proceed simultaneously despite the seasonal conditions.

Exposed glulam beams and timber roof elements create warm, open living spaces while highlighting the precision of off-site fabrication. The project illustrates how thoughtful planning and prefabrication can reduce on-site construction time, maintain schedule through challenging weather conditions, and deliver a home that feels deeply connected to its natural setting.
