Lake|Flato has received wide critical acclaim. In 2019, we were recognized by ARCHITECT Magazine as the top firm in the U.S. in their annual ARCHITECT 50 ranking. The American Institute of Architects honored us with its prestigious Firm of the Year Award in 2004, and the firm earned a Texas Medal of Arts in 2009. In 2016, Fast Company named us one of the “Ten Most Innovative Architecture Firms in the World” and the LOCUS Foundation honored Lake|Flato with a Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, recognizing our architectural approach to addressing the needs of society. Thirteen Lake|Flato projects have received the national Top Ten Green Projects Award by the AIA Committee on the Environment, the highest recognition for sustainable design. In all, our work has been recognized with more than 300 international, national and regional awards.
