Weiss Hall at University Of Scranton/ Workforce Development Facility
Scranton, PABuilt for sustainability, Weiss Hall at the University of Scranton is a 9,000 sq. ft., 3-story mass timber workforce development facility completed in 2025. Quality Buildings provided full supply and installation of CLT floor and roof deck panels and glulam columns and beams, working within a hybrid mass timber and steel structure alongside GC Quandel Construction.
The project presented significant site logistics challenges — the addition was constructed within the open center of an existing horseshoe-shaped building, limiting crane positioning and requiring precision coordination around the active structure. Quality Buildings used advanced BIM modeling and 3D clash detection to pre-plan every piece digitally before mobilization. The result was rapid field execution: all three floors were installed in just weeks with minimal site disruption and no interruption to university operations, delivering the project on schedule for its 2025 opening.
